| Arcade, Neo-Geo, & Neo-Geo CD (1991): 1-2 players Controls: button 1 - punch/pick up items/use weapons button 2 - jump button 3 - kick/pick up items 2, 1/3 - jump attack 1 & 2 - desperation attack walk into enemy - grab grab, 1/3 - throw Characters: Duke(average), Ryu(fast, pictured above), and Billy(Strong) Sometimes you'll see an upward pointing arrow inviting your character to walk up into a building, for a bonus round of sorts, to break some objects and get some items to increase points, or bottles to restore health. I don't know exactly how it's done, but Billy can pull off a headbutt with forward & 1 during a grab. Throws(and the previously mentioned headbutt) must be done quickly, as enemies escape from grabs pretty quickly. Breakable items on wheels will be sent forward from your characters 2nd attack, so utilize that to help take out enemies. | |

| Not a personal fave, to be brutally honest, I just can't find any fun to be had here. Despite coming out 2 years after Final Fight, it feels like a step or 2 backward from it. This is the same year Sega put out Streets of Rage, and you had a more robust move set in that console exclusive game, on a 3 year older console. If it weren't for its arcade assets(mainly graphics), there would be nothing all that remarkable about this game.
Feel free to disagree, but I can't find any enjoyment out of this one. | |
