| Surprised to see SORO run by Sidd/BR, but whatever community there was, it's basically gone. I leave for a few years and the whole community goes through a near death experience? | |

| We have an archive of the old main site, in case anyone didn't know. | |

| Still doesn't explain what happened to the overall community. I don't even know what happened to this one, to be honest. Used to be incredibly active with about 7 people, but that was a different site/board in ~2011.
Edit: While I've made this post I should probably explain what's happening on my end. I'm doing this through a tablet, so no copying and pasting text, URL's, images, etc. My PC(laptop) is going through these awkward shutdowns, so I try to use it as little as possible. Thursdays seem to be my best bet for distraction free time to make posts for the games.
Which reminds me, I haven't gotten around to the more popular series, because I can recall others wanting to do them first. If I get to the end of 2D cartridge gaming, well, you had 2+ years if you wanted to make TMNT or Kunio/Nekketsu/River City threads yourself.
I know our admin wants to cover Double Dragon, Final Fight, and some Sega games(I still don't know all of which though) himself.
Sorry for that bit of topic hijacking, just wanted to get that out there, while people can see that I'm capable of typing, but not making threads for games.

| I guess people moved on. I'm not sure myself but some of us are indeed still here. Welcome back, Avenger. | |

| Obviously at the PC today(though not for long), but people do seem to be logging in enough to actually have a community here. Just saying. Anyone got something to talk about? | |

| Perhaps I should make my original topic clearer.
What happened to the small community of SOR fans? Well, that's kinda answered. People moved on. No more teasing Cosmobuggi. :/
What happened to Brawlers Avenue itself? Site is gone. No idea.
What happened to SORO? Site is back, but barely updated. Sidd in charge for some reason but no forum of their own (leads back here). Who knows what happened.

| The forum is merged as I see no reason to run two whole forums with barely even 10 people posting, however most of the community have moved onto the Brawlers Avenue Discord as well as the dedicated Streets of Rage Discord both of which are much easier to manage.
As for me running the site I'm quite certain I've mentioned this the first time you came back but yes I'm the new head of SoRO/WoC and at this time reviving the site hasn't been a cake walk given I'm now a father of 5 and have a slew of other personal issues. No excuses being made as I still have big plans for both sites just putting it out there that I'm never not busy and time management hasn't been my strongest characteristic.
I have been making some changes to help with this however, my wife has stepped up to manage most of the social media sites which has been a big help given those get a ton of hits in comparison. I'm not a big fan of social media but sadly most don't want to jump on a forum nowadays. I also have some trusted help with the YouTube and discord so we'll see how that pans out.
It's also no secret that I've been developing a couple of Streets of Rage projects which is also taking up what little time I have to do things. Simply put a tight schedule is needed on my part to get things done the way I want them.
Eidolon entrusted the site and everything with it to me and has no plans of returning anytime soon, to be frank it came at a pretty trying time but I wouldn't have wanted the site to just go away for good so I took the helm.
Tl;Dr To answer your questions more directly The SoR community has moved on but is still around and running quite strong actually and the discord server is pretty big right now. Brawlers Avenue and Streets of Rage Online are obviously being reworked on my spare time.
As I said before, a community isn't just one person (me) if there was a want for the forums to be active they would be active. We have a dedicated SoR section which is redirected to when visiting the site, same categories and all people just don't post in them if they even show up at all. There's not much I can do other than provide the forums for you guys to post on. I can try to archive the older forum and see if I can recover any vital info, topics etc but that's the most I'm doing if it's possible.

| Well this isn't a pity party, if you feel the need to leave candra then do so but I'm deleting these posts and getting back on topic.
I'm taking some time to fix some things around the forum and make some posts, got a lot of stuff to catch up on here as far as content and news.

| Well, I may not log-in daily, but I still check into the site as much. Through a Raspberry Pi lately(not perfectly[minor graphics issues], but you can play SoRR on RetroPie, through some research).
12/5: 20 days 'til Christmas...
I'd been avoiding using the tablet, and handhelds, and stuff, as I noticed smaller screens seem to mess with my eyes. They were wicked bad at one point. Just the shape of something 50 or so feet away was blurry, text on a large screen from 15(or less) feet away was also blurry, etc. I looked up some eye exercises on Youtube and sort of got my vision back, it's not 20/20, and possibly never will be(even though they claim it can be), but it's a hell of a lot better than it was before. Thing is, it only got better specifically because my left eye did. The right eye, if it can clear up, has a long way to go. Anyway, I realized that it's only a temporary blur after looking at smaller screens, and I did get my vision to a better state than it was at one time before, so I could most likely do so again, if need be.
The point is, I started playing with my Vita again, which I got mainly for Dragon's Crown, which people kept touting as a beat 'em up. I'm not sure I see it as one though. The stages are fairly quick, but outside of that it almost feels like an action-RPG with a side view. I mean, one thing in the favor of considering it a beat 'em up is that you don't level or improve skills during the action. Hell, you don't even get better equipment during the action, other than having your thief open chests for you. You see what you got after you defeat the boss, which automatically puts you in the tavern. On the flip side(and I haven't gotten there with any character yet), you can raise 98 levels(as it goes, you always start at 1. I got the dwarf to 88, and I think you need to be at 99, with 3 other 99 characters to beat the final boss). That is one thing I'm a bit bothered about with the game too. There are just some battles, especially the final one, where you need a full party of 4(the game gives you NPC's, if you don't feel like taking it online). I'm currently on my 3rd character now(the dwarf is the only one I'm taking through higher difficulties, I'll at least play the others until their ending). It's a good time waster, I'm clocked in at over 70 hours. It's a good followup to Capcom's D&D arcade games(which was the point, as this games director was that series director, and you'll see stuff that screams D&D, if you're at all familiar with the license), if those are among your favorites. It's just that those still feel like beat 'em ups, whereas I'm still not sure how I see Dragon's Crown.
